W3C - Section 508 Compliance: Effective June 25, 2001, the Access Board, an independent federal agency, issued final accessibility standards for electronic and information technology under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act as amended in 1998. The standards require CSU campuses to comply by ensuring that electronic and information technology is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
