You may forward your Student E-mail to an outside email account if you wish, however it is NOT RECOMMENDED!
This will NOT forward messages already exsisting in your mailbox. It only forwards new messages from the point you setup the forward until such time as you decide to remove the forward from your account.
Those who forward e-mail from their official address to another address do so at their own risk. Having e-mail lost as a result of redirection does not absolve the account holder from the responsibilities associated with the communication sent to their official e-mail address. The University is not responsible for handling of e-mail by outside vendors or unofficial servers. Privacy of confidential information may be compromised by forwarding mail from an official e-mail account.
Login to your Student E-mail account through the website http://www.csustan.edu/StudentEmail/
Using the Advanced Interface:
- Click Preferences at the top of the mail screen to access the preferences menu.
- Select Account Preferences from the menu.
- Click on the Mail Settings tab at the top of the window.
- In the Forward to Address field, enter the email address you wish to have your new Student E-mail messages forwarded to. Be sure it is entered correctly!
- Click the Save Settings Button to apply the changes.
- Using the Simple Interface:
- Click the Settings link at the top of the page.
- Locate the Email Diversion section at the bottom of the page.
- In the Forward to Address field, enter the email address you wish to have your new Student E-mail messages forwarded to. Be sure it is entered correctly!
- Click the Save Settings button at the top left of the page to apply the changes.
