Erin Finkelstein currently teaches clarinet at California State University Stanislaus and has been a guest lecturer of clarinet and chamber music at the University of the Pacific. As a passionate teacher, Erin has given clarinet master classes to hundreds of individuals in public and private K-12 schools across the West Coast. She currently maintains private studios in Davis and Sacramento and is on faculty at the Sacramento School of Music. Erin performs frequently with the professional orchestras of Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Fresno, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and the Reno Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Finkelstein is a member of the Sacramento based woodwind quintet, Vapor; and has appeared on several occasions with the Pacific Arts Woodwind Quintet.
Erin earned her Bachelors of Music in clarinet with Dr. Patricia Shands at the University of the Pacific with awards in performance, Masters of Music in clarinet with Dr. Robert Spring at Arizona State University, and continued studies with David Krakauer at the Mannes College of Music in New York City. From 2004- 2007 Erin attended a Feldenkrais® training program and is now a guild certified Practitioner. She works with all people, including musicians and artists, in teaching intelligent movement patterns, body awareness, and enhanced functioning for all daily activities. Erin has given many workshops and classes in the method all over the central valley from hospitals to Universities.
