The two exams will each consist of two (2) sections:

• one multiple choice section covering the assigned text readings for the period, and
• one section of short answer or problem questions covering additional readings and material emphasized in lecture.

There will be no "final" examination during finals week: all course content will be tested in these two exams. Consult the schedule for the dates of these two exams.

Both exams will be closed-book. Calculators are permitted, except those with alpha capability, which may have their alpha strings purged and/or be confiscated for the duration of the exam.

Special conditions for the second, more quantitative exam will be discussed in the class period preceding that exam: these conditions may include the possibility for each student to bring one page of handwritten notes.
