Application Process
International students complete the online application when requesting on campus housing. Prior to beginning the online application, it’s good to know a little bit about how the process works: What is a housing application? A housing application is a contract/lease agreement for a select number for days. Can I move out of housing anytime I choose? No, an individual chooses a housing contract/lease agreement for a specific date range. During these dates a student is committed to living on campus and must pay the fees. The following are the contract/lease dates for this coming year:
What if I want to move out? Is there a way to do this? Yes, an individual can Petition to Cancel their housing contract/lease agreement. Requests are considered based on the reasons for cancellation identified in sections VI and VII of the Housing License Agreement. The request is submitted to the Housing Director for review and approval or denial. How do I apply for campus housing? To complete the application you’ll need to have a couple of things handy:
A complete application consists of the following: 1. Completion of the online application, including the electronic signature sections 2. Submission of the Financial Guarantor form for anyone under 24. 3. Payment or deferment of the Deposit. Other Useful Information Early Check-In: If you will be arriving before Move-In Day (August 18, 2013) and would like to request authorization for early check-in you will need to complete and submit a Request for Early Check-In Form. International students may start checking in at 11a.m., Sunday, August 11, 2013. Check-In prior to this date will have an associated nightly charge. July Housing Payment: Your first housing payment is due Thursday, July 19, 2013. This payment is separate from your deposit. You may request that your payment be deferred until after you arrive in the United States. To request a deferral of this payment complete and fax the International Student Deposit and 1st Payment Deferral Request to the Housing Office. Unless other arrangements have been made with the Housing Accounts Coordinator the Housing Office must receive your deposit and August payment prior to check-in. Have questions?
