Because We Know Meals Are Important
Culinary options ranging from fresh and healthy to traditional comfort foods are available through both the main campus dining hall and the Village Cafe. In addition, those with medically required special diets need not fear as appropriate meals will be prepared when prescribed and approved in writing by a medical doctor. By becoming a member of the Village family you are not only on the fast track to academic success, you get to take advantage of a wide variety of meal choices and cooking is optional! Choosing a Plan is as Easy as 1, 2, 3...... Meal plans are comprised of all-you-care-to-eat block meal allocations ($7.50 per meal cost) which can be used at 3 campus locations and flex dollars. Flex dollars can be used at any of the campus dining locations and function as a declining amount of funds. 1. When looking at the plans consider if you want an ALL FLEX PLAN or a COMBO FLEX/BLOCK PLAN. Consider how many times each week you might use a block meal....and not have to cook! Students may use block meals in the following locations: Mom's Cafe and Grill: You can purchase a "plate special" Monday-Friday between the hours of 4:30p.m.-10:00p.m. You have the option of choosing between 4 different plate specials. Each plate is valued at 1 block. Pop's Convenience Store: You can purchase a "package special" Monday-Friday between the hours of 4:30p.m.-10:00p.m. You have the option of choosing between 2 different package specials. Each package is valued at 1 block. Village Cafe: You can purchase dinner Monday-Sunday night for 1 block value. You may also purchase brunch Saturday-Sunday for 1 block value. The Village Cafe is an All-You-Care-To-Eat facility and offers the best value for the cost of a block.
2. Look at the plan options. Consider the number of meal blocks each plan averages per week and how many flex dollars come with each option. Keep in mind that the flex dollar amounts for each plan are different and although each combo plan centers around a "weekly average" number of meal blocks these blocks actual roll between weeks and terms. Think of it as the best of both worlds. You can plan for how many meals you think you'll eat each week, but know that if you choose not to you can just have that many additional meals for a later time! Reminder - Each plan comes with an annual number of block meals per contract. The meals will be distributed by term and roll between terms, but you must use them all by the end the contract length or they are forfeit. 3. Choose your plan!
Warrior Card Meal plans are administered through your Warrior Card, which functions both as a university ID and as a declining dollar card. Meal plan dollars are assigned on an annual basis and are allocated by semester. How Do I Add Money to My Card? Where Can I Spend My Meal Plan Money?
Unused meal plan balances will roll forward from one semester to the next, but must be used during the academic year for which they are purchased; Fall 2010 through Spring 2010. Meal plan funds must be expended the last day of the contract period. Funds not expended are forfeit to Campus Dining.
