Goals are to:

• Improve student performance in algebra, economics, and chemistry through the creation of an Academic Enrichment Program using Supplemental Instruction (SI)
• Provide increased opportunities for Hispanic and low-income students to gain access to a university and successfully complete courses which lead to sought-after bachelor degree programs such as liberal studies for teacher preparation, business, and nursing
• Pilot test, refine, and institutionalize academic support above and beyond that normally provided to students
• Evaluate the effectiveness of Supplemental Instruction as it relates to the local student population
