STAMP (Stanislaus Transfer & Math Program)

The goal of Activity Two is to increase the transfer rates of currently enrolled Merced College and Modesto Junior College students to four-year institutions. To achieve the goal of increased transfer, research will be conducted to identify potential institutional barriers to transfer. We utilize focus groups and student surveys to provide valuable feedback about their transfer experiences and determine possible barriers. Our transfer program targets first-generation, Hispanic students and/or low-income community college students who plan to transfer to a four-year university. By tracking the academic success of program participants through University, we will be able to identify and evaluate factors that assist students in successful transfer. Results of our data analysis will be used to make recommendations to each participating institution.
