Title V HSI Collaborative Grant CSU Stanislaus Modesto Junior College Title V Home Merced College

Main Priorities Activity II

The goals for Activity II are to:

  • Reduce institutional barriers and increase transfer, at two levels
    • 1st level: Meet immediate student needs through a specialized program of services to increase transfer rates of currently enrolled students
    • 2nd level: Have a long-range impact on the student transfer rate by utilizing research to support the appropriate institutional changes, thereby reducing inter-institutional barriers
  • Improve the transfer process specifically to CSU Stanislaus, with the intent of expanding the successful interventions to be utilized with all universities to which the community college students transfer, including the newly formed University of California Merced
  • Annually establish new cohorts at both community colleges, anticipating that 100 to 150 students will be served at any one time at each institution and as many as 500 over the course of the grant
  • Generate degree audit reports to allow students to explore CSU Stanislaus majors and encourage them to transfer
  • Meet with students to discuss the degree audit report each semester and generate a course plan
