Young Writers' Symposium - Friday, March 7, 2014
The Great Valley Writing Project invites student writers, teachers, and parents to a spring symposium of writing workshops. GVWP Teacher Consultants have selected a buffet of fun, hands-on workshops targeting writing styles that fit the California Language Arts Framework and Common Core Standards.
This collaboration between Modesto Junior College and GVWP offers something for everyone!

Young Writers Workshop in Turlock @ CSU Stanislaus
This program offers a unique opportunity for students to develop their writing talents. Under the guidance of experienced Great Valley Writing Project Teacher Consultants, students have a chance to grow as writers. In an atmosphere that is optimal for young writers, students become better writers. Students share writings with fellow students, conference with teachers, and experiment with a variety of genre and creative techniques.

Registration Fees: $225 Early Bird (until April 4, 2014)
Each additional student from same household gets a $25 discount
After April 4, 2014: $250 for the first student in each househould, $25 discount for each additional student.

GVWP Writing & Technology Workshops for K-12 Students
GVWP Writing & Technology Workshops help young authors and college-bound students develop their creative and academic writing talents. Guided by our large staff of GVWP consultants, classroom teachers, and technology instructors, participants develop confidence and skills in a collaborative setting that is optimal for productivity and learning. Each day, students learn new writing strategies, interact with personal writing mentors, explore multimedia technology, and collaborate with peers as they polish, present, and publish their work. - Manteca Workshop June 16-27, 2014) for students entering grades 3-8 in the fall
- Lathrop Workshop (July 14-25, 2014) for students entering grades 1-12 in the fall
