2010 Writing Contest
This year our writing contest topic is the writer's choice. So pick up your muse and join us as we celebrate the "Year of the Writer" in honor of the California Writing Project's 35th Anniversary. Submit your writing by April 1, 2010.
The National Gallery of Writing
Everyone is invited to submit their writing to the GVWP Gallery and celebrate writing with us by attending any of the events listed below.
Writing Luncheon for Parents and Students
Keyes to Learning Charter School hosted a luncheon for parents and students. Over 70 letters were written and mailed to service members.

Family Literacy Night: "Day of the Writer"
Jefferson Elementary School District in Tracy hosted a literacy night attended by many families in the district. Teachers and students collaborated to write a story.

Family Writing Night
Stella Brockman Elementary School in Manteca celebrated with a school-wide writing activity, Word of the Day. Students and teachers wrote about the word pencil with finished pieces turned in for a school publication. Families spent the evening writing 6 Room Poems, using photographs brought by each person.

Family Writing Night
Several families met at Woodward Elementary School in Manteca to write creatively. They were joined by a reporter from the Manteca Bulletin. Read the article written about the event.

Writing Marathon
GVWP Teacher Consultants spent a Saturday morning in downtown Tracy touring the city and writing extensively.
