Dr. Sundar's Math Programs

Math and Science Teacher Initiative Scholarship - $1,000

Open to current Single Subject Credential Candidates who would like to add a Foundational Level Math or General Science Credential to their current credential

Scholarship recipients will receive:

  • $1,000 Scholarship
  • Reimbursement of CSET Registration Fees (for CSET’s exams completed by August 30, 2014)
  • Free CSET Study Guide (for add-on content area; Math or Science)
  • Free admission to Math CSET Workshops (for recipents adding on a math credential)

Application Deadline:  Wednesday, April 16, 2014 

Math and Science Teacher Initiative Scholarship - $1,000 (for Spring or Summer 2014)

Open to:

  • Sr. level math and science majors who will be pursuing a teaching credential
  • Liberal Studies majors who would like to add a Foundational Level Math or General Science content area credential to their Multiple Subject Credential
  • Multiple Subject credential candidates who would like to add a Foundational Level Math or General Science content area credential to their Multiple Subject Credential

Scholarship recipients will receive:

  • $1,000 Scholarship in exchange for 50 hours of field service in an approved program during spring or summer of 2014
  • Reimbursement of CSET and/or CBEST registraiton fees (upon proof of passing)
  • Free CSET Study Guide (for add-on content area; Math or Science)
  • Free admission to Math CSET Workshops (for recipents adding on a math credential)
  • CBEST Study Guide (if CBEST is needed)
  • Free admission to CBEST Workshop

Implementing CCSS

In this 20-hour Institute Teachers will take part in creating and using manipulatives, games and puzzles to engage students in mathematical discourse. They will also get examples of hands- on activities for students aligned with CCSS-M to promote students conceptual understanding.

Math Writers’ Institute

The purpose of this 30-hour workshop is to guide the participant in writing an article for a math journal visual. ComMunicator and Journal of CMP.

Fabulous Fractions

The 20-hour Institute will cover models of multiplication and division of fractions. Our development of fractions will follow the Common Core State Standards development.

Financial Literacy and Awareness Means Equity Dollars (FLAME$)

This money management and financial training course is open to all female CSU Stanislaus students, faculty, and staff.

Math and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) FUTURE MATH & SCIENCE TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP: $1000 for Spring 2013

Submit completed application to the Teacher Recruitment & Retention Office (DBH 322) by March 1, 2013. Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted.

The Future Math & Science Teacher Scholarship is open to Jr. or Sr. Math/ Science Majors who intend to teach at the middle or high school level. Selected recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship in exchange for 50 hours of field service/tutoring in area schools and programs. Scholarship Recipient Must:

  • Be a CSU Stanislaus math or science major at the Jr. or Sr. level
  • Be enrolled full-time
  • Possess a minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Enter the CSU Stanislaus Single Subject Credential Program in math or science upon graduation
  • Provide 50 hours of [approved] field service/tutoring in area schools and programs (by August 2013)
  • Agree to repay scholarship if failure to complete credential
  • This award is not open to current Noyce Scholars
