POSITION:
|
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in the NASPAA accredited Master of Public Administration program. Rank is open, though preference will be given to outstanding candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are looking for an individual with a strong public service orientation. Professional experience in the public sector is desired, but not necessary. The individual appointed to this position will teach a wide range of graduate courses in the Master of Public Administration program including quantitative analysis, budgeting, human resources administration, policy analysis, as well as the opportunity to teach specialized courses in candidate's areas of interest. Although it is not required for this appointment, we are interested in individuals who can design and teach courses in non-profit administration. The successful candidate is also expected to teach an introductory undergraduate course in American Government. Superior candidates will possess enthusiasm, vision, and a collaborative orientation. The Department is noted for its collegial and supportive environment and its public service ethos. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:

ABD in Public Administration, Political Science, or closely related field is required with evidence of excellent teaching at the university level.

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
Ph.D. in Public Administration, Political Science, or closely related field. Substantial evidence of excellent teaching at the university level and a proven record of scholarship are highly desirable. A candidate’s consideration will be enhanced by evidence of experience in academic program management, especially in the field of Public Administration, and by a record of public service.
