POSITION:
|
The College of Education, seeks a dynamic leader and scholar to direct its newly implemented and growing doctoral program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.). The Educational Leadership doctorate is among the most innovative, distinctive, and historic initiatives at California State University, Stanislaus, and the Director will assume chief responsibility for the program’s delivery, expansion and quality. The Directorship is a tenure track or tenured faculty appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor. The person appointed will have a unique opportunity to join a talented graduate education faculty who have shaped regionally recognized master’s degree and advanced credential programs. The School Leadership and Administration Program linked to the developing Ed.D. enjoys acclaim throughout our six county region for its preparation of effective school administrators, and along with the College of Education’s other quality master’s programs, faculty, and preschool through community college partnerships provides a strong platform for the doctorate and an unparalleled professional opportunity for the Director. |
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
- A doctorate in education or a related field from an accredited university.
- An appropriate record of scholarship in one or more fields directly contributing to instructional leadership and/or pedagogy at either the P-12, higher education or community college level. Scholarship specializations may include (but not limited to) school administration and leadership, higher education leadership, community colleges, adult learning, dual language instruction, English Learners, social foundations of education, multicultural education, educational research and assessment, instructional design and learning, and STEM.
- An excellent record of teaching at the graduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent leadership in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated ability to direct research, including guiding doctoral dissertations.
- A commitment to the preparation of graduates who can meet the needs of a diverse society and multilingual communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
The person appointed will have lead administrative duties for delivery and advancement of the doctoral program, including curriculum, budget planning and supervision, technology, and building P-14 partnerships and field sites; teach courses in the doctoral program, advise candidates, and serve on dissertation committees; collaborate with College of Education faculty and engage other colleges and departments, the library, and external partners in program development and delivery. |
