As I am sure you have heard, the new Unit 3 Collective Bargaining Agreement features numerous salary adjustments, both retrospective and prospective. One of these, a General Salary Increase (GSI) of 3%, was made effective to July 1, 2006 and should have been reflected in your May or June pay warrant. A second GSI of 1% will become effective with your July pay warrant. A third GSI of 3.7% is scheduled for AY07-08, but we will not be able to implement this adjustment until the Governor signs the final state budget for the coming fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the Contract specifies two 2.65% Service Salary Increases (SSI), one effective on 2006 anniversary dates, and one effective on 2007 anniversary dates. The 2006 SSI Eligibility List is below.
We will also be distributing paper copies of this list to the six academic deans, the Dean of Libraries, the Athletics Director, and the Director of the Counseling Center.
Recall that SSI eligibility also has a number of limitations, including a maximum within each of the ranks. The 2006 “ceilings” (after the GSI was included) were:
• Assistant Professor - $58,632
• Associate Professor - $74,136
• Professor - $81,444
Other contributing factors in determining SSI eligibility are your SSI “counter,” past FMIs, and other miscellaneous salary adjustmentsin effect, your entire CSU salary history.
While we have done our best to calculate everyone’s SSI eligibility, there is always a slight chance (given the complexity involved) that we may have overlooked someone, or misread a salary record. If you believe you have been erroneously omitted from the SSI Eligibility List, please contact Wendy Miller at WDMiller@csustan.edu or phone 667-3401.
Thank you for the patience you have shown as we have worked through this very complicated process. Examining the salary records of nearly 600 instructional faculty, librarians, counselors, and coaches has consumed a considerable amount of our time lately, but we’re confident you’ll appreciate the results of our efforts.
