POSITION:

The Ethnic Studies program invites applications for a part-time Lecturer position in African American Studies for 2012-13. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence. This position will cover one or two of the following undergraduate courses per semester (up to 6 wtu’s per term, comprising up to four preparations for the year): two or three team-taught African American segments (each semester) of a multi-section course on Minority Experience (.33 responsibility per section); Multiculturalism: Bias to Reality (an online section); Contemporary African American Studies; and an upper-division elective in the African American Studies track of the Ethnic Studies program. No advising or committee responsibilities. |
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
MA required (Ph.D. preferred) in African American Studies, Ethnic Studies, or a comparable interdisciplinary program focused on the African American Experience; MA and ABD candidates will be given careful consideration with demonstrated evidence of high-quality undergraduate teaching. |

| ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT and THE COLLEGE: The Ethnic Studies faculty offer a range of courses covering Chicano, Asian American and African American Studies. The Ethnic Studies program supports a small major in Ethnic Studies and minors in Ethnic Studies, Chicano Studies, Asian American Studies, and African American Studies. |
CAMPUS & AREA: California State University, Stanislaus serves the San Joaquin Valley, one of the fastest growing areas in the country.
