Grammar of the Hands

Artist Talk at 7:00 pm The South Gallery will feature multi-media artist Susan Field. Her work revolves around looseness, risk-taking and a greater reliance on intuition. She collects discarded items: love notes, lottery tickets, food stamp receipts, dry cleaning stubs and grocery lists. They show the underside of life and serve as windows into the lives of people who have left clues behind. Field uses slide mounts in her work which act as viewfinders and underscore her desire to view things more closely.
