Kinesiology courses provide a background in physical education for those planning to enter the teaching field, undertake graduate work, or complete pre-professional work in health and wellness fields such as pre-physical therapy. Kinesiology majors are encouraged to maintain fitness by enrolling in one activity skills class and one activity fitness class per semester.
Where can a degree in Kinesiology take you? Some possible career paths/fields of work include: activities director, athletic coach, corporate fitness, personal trainer, K-12 physical education teacher, graduate education in exercise physiology, health/ fitness consulting, graduate education in physical therapy, and graduate education in occupational therapy.

Introduction to the theoretical study of sport and its relationship to culture and society; investigation and analysis of literature that is concerned with the individual and his/her involvement in play, game, and sport open to all majors who have passed the writing proficiency exam.
- To demonstrate knowledge and skill in a broad variety of fitness activities
- To understand the biological/ physical and behavioral bases of movement and the changes that occur across the life span, within diverse populations, and under a variety of conditions
- To know how to apply kinesiological knowledge to enhance motor skills and fitness in a variety of populations and conditions
