Cooperative Education in Finance
Provides an opportunity to acquire practical experience in supervised paid employment in finance. Students are placed in private or public sector posi-tions under the supervision of the em-ployer and a department coordinator.
- A basic understanding of: the role of financial markets and institutions in a developed economy, interest rates and the factors that affect them, the time-value of money, capital budgeting, and the use of financial markets
- To understand and evaluate investment advice from brokers and the press
- To critically evaluate and compare financing alternatives
