Marcus Omlin has been involved in the medical field since 1987, working first as an Ambulance Driver for Stockton Ambulance Company, where he transported the sick and injured. In 1988 he became employed as a Firefighter with the Waterloo Morada Fire Department and was promoted to a Fire Captain in 2004. He has been teaching CPR and First Aid since 1993. He taught for the Red Cross for about 6 years and has been with EMS Safety Services, the company that will provide your certification, since 1998.

Liz Winter is a former welfare recipient and a single mother of four. She is also a recovered drug user and survivor of emotional abuse. Liz started her own business as a legal support specialist and worked as a technology manager for a Sacramento law firm and is currently a technology consultant for law firms. Liz experienced first-hand the struggles to achieving her goals.
Dressing for Success
Linda Lawrence is an Image Stylist since 1993. She has trained with the best of them. Linda’s developed and created workshops for a variety of companies from colleges to real estate firms. She is an active member of the American Image Consultants International and has other group affiliations as well. She has a degree in Marketing from University of Phoenix. She discovered that through self awareness and education, anything is possible.
Love the Skin Your In
Angela Palmer is an esthetician, or skin care therapist, who spends her time educating others about good skin health. As a former welfare recipient, Angela understands the need for inexpensive ways to care for the skin, and has developed skin care recipes using natural ingredients found in your kitchen. In addition to instructing at Wellness Works, Angela also teaches skin care classes at various colleges throughout Northern California and works as the editor for About.com's Acne site.
Brenda Norris Brenda has worked in varying fields – from hairdressing in New Zealand, to Tai Chi Teacher here in the U.S., with quite an assortment in between.
Catriona Linn has been teaching Physical Wellness in and around Stockton since 1996.
Angela Leonardo has an Associate of Arts Degree in Natural Sciences. She also holds a Delta College Fitness Specialist Certificate along with many other certifications including Pilates and her most recent, Zumba. She is also a CPR Instructor and EMT – 1. Angela has been employed at In Shape Health Clubs since 2004. Angela has a passion for fitness and nutrition and believes that health goals are very individual.
Physical Wellness addresses the fact that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce. Physical wellness is highlighted as a life skill for maintaining health, increasing energy and obtaining balance for work. Basic breathing techniques and non-strenuous movements are taught to help reduce stress at work, avoid work-related injuries, promote relaxation, and increase concentration all of which will ultimately result in greater productivity and less absenteeism.
Temperaments in the Work Place
Diane Feneck has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, a Master’s degree in counseling, with a career emphasis, and certification in True Colors. She is familiar with administering career assessment tools such as Strong Interest Inventory and Myers Briggs. She is the Coordinator of Wellness WORKs! and has been teaching part-time at San Joaquin Delta College since 1991. She is also a certified True Colors Trainer.
Managing Job Stress
Brandi Mack is a Certified Licensed Holistic Health Educator, Therapeutic Massage Therapist and Teacher, Pregnancy Support Counselor, Herbalist, Dulah and Stress Management Consultant. She is a powerful presenter and motivational speaker. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Service Management from University of Phoenix. She plans to continue with school to obtain her Master’s Degree.
Physical Wellness and The Working Parent
Lisa Huiras has a Bachelors Degree in Human Service Management and a Masters Degree in Psychology, both from University of Phoenix. She is currently attending California Southern University and is working on her Doctorate Degree in Psychology (PsyD). She is employed by Kaiser Permanente as a Health Education Instructor focusing on “Medical Weight Loss.” She was a preschool teacher and director for 15 years, completed the Parent Living Skills Project through San Joaquin Delta College, and has her California Child Development Site Supervisory Permit. She is a certified group exercise instructor at the In-Shape Health Clubs. She has a variety of “fitness” certifications. She has also been a Weight Watchers leader since 2001.
Health Issues that Interfere with Job Performance and Attendance
Christina Tupas has been employed with CalWorks since 2000. She was an Employment Training Specialist until 2002. Then she became the Case Manager for the Food Service and Warehouse Programs. She was a Case Manager for the Supervised Job Search Program and was the Job Developer for that program. Currently she is a Cal WORKs Case Manager. She has also been a health educator for Delta Health Care and has held positions in a rehabilitation center, children’s home, and the Transitional Learning Center. She has an Associate of Arts degree in nursing from San Joaquin Delta College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from CSU Stanislaus.
Healthy Eating for Better Job Performance
Cristina Diocson is a recent UC Davis graduate. She has a BS in Nutrition Science with an emphasis in Biochemistry. Cristina grew up in both Northern and Southern California so she is personally familiar with the social problems afflicting our communities. Cristina has worked out in the community as a nutrition consultant for Steps to a Healthier San Joaquin Coalition before transitioning to UC Cooperative Extension. At UC Cooperative Extension she started teaching food safety for seniors in the Make Food Safe for Seniors Grant Program. When the grant ended Cristina stayed on board in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program where she currently teaches nutrition and physical activity as well as food safety. Cristina recently joined the Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program to continue the working relationship with Wellness WORKs!
Lorena Hoyos graduated from University of California at Davis with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science in 2002. She also graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a Master's Degree in Health Promotion in 2006. Lorena worked for WIC for two years as a Nutritionist Assistant. Currently she is working for the DC Cooperative Extension with the Food Stamp Nutrition and Education Program as a Nutrition Educator.
Conflict Resolution in the Workplace
Leon Coffey has been employed with the United States Post Office since 1987. He has been involved with union work since 1980 and was a union shop steward for 6 years. He is still a union member and acts as a consultant with the union on an as needed basis. In 2002, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Labor Studies from San Francisco State University. He is also a Vietnam Veteran and has been in recovery from drugs and alcohol since 1996.
Safety and Prevention of Personal and Workplace Violence
Lorraine Perez is from the Women’s Center of San Joaquin County. She is the Domestic Violence Program Coordinator for a contract between the Women’s center and Behavioral Wellness. She provides weekly classes on domestic violence, one-on-one counseling, assistance with temporary restraining orders, and court accompaniment to CalWORKs recipients. She worked with the Criminal Justice System – Community Corrections Field in Colorado for ten years. There she worked with adult female and male offenders from the Department of Corrections and County Diversion.
Lena Williams is currently a facilitator at the San Joaquin County Mediation Center here in Stockton where she teaches anger management and positive parenting. Lena also volunteers as a mediator for the center. Lena has three years completed toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences at San Francisco State University. She is also a licensed cosmetologist and real estate agent and is certified in nutrition, massage therapy, and conflict resolution. Prior to her career as a facilitator, Lena was a successful business owner of a beauty salon in San Mateo County.
Drug and Alcohol Abuse in the Work Place
Kathy Mero is a Substance Abuse Counselor II with San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services. In her seventeen years of experience, she has worked for the FOCUS outpatient program, Family Ties residential program, Central Intake unit and is currently working as a counselor for supportive services for Cal WORKs. Her educational background includes an AA Degree in Social Services and Family Consumer Science and she is currently working on her Mental Health Specialist Certificate. She is also certified as a Human Services Worker and a Substance Abuse Specialist and is registered with Breining Institute as a Registered Addiction Specialist II. Her educational goals include completing her Bachelor’s Degree and continuing her education to become an MFT. He greatly enjoys working with clients, particularly when they have taken the responsibility to be in control of their own lives by making the necessary changes they need to succeed. Her ability to help others grows by learning from the clients she serves.
Wendy True has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and Family Studies, a Master’s Degree in Counseling and she is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is currently a therapist for children in foster care. From 1990 – 1997, she was employed as a caseworker for public assistance and worked individually with AFDC recipients to assist them in obtaining and preparing for employment. She has facilitated classes for the Independent Living Program, the University of Phoenix, and other private companies for the past seven years.

Tanya Andrews is an educator, entrepreneur and youth mentor who maintains an active schedule as Executive Director/President of T.H.R.I.V.E., a nonprofit organization that provides education and mentoring services for teens (13-17). She is also the sole owner of THRIVE College and Career Consulting, a consulting business specializing in the areas of Youth Education and Career Development. She uses various youth educational and skill development conferences, retreats and workshops to achieve her goals in these areas. She has a Masters degree in Business Administration, and has recently completed her course work at Patten University for a Masters degree in Education and a Multiple & Single Subject Teaching Credential.
