| Who Must Take the Test |
|
All CSU Stanislaus undergraduates. (They should wait until the end of their sophomore year, preferably as they finish ENGL 2000 or PHIL 2000.)

| How to sign up for the WPST |
The WPST is given approximately one month before the beginning of each semester. For specific registration information, refer to the WPST application form. On the Turlock Campus, registration forms are available from any academic department, the Writing Center, and the testing forms rack in the Student Services Building. They are also available from the Transfer Centers at the area Community Colleges and MCRC, Stockton.
Choose your test date carefully since the fee is non-refundable or transferable. Late registration forms will be returned.
Register by mail or in person at the WPST Office, MSR 180. Register early so we will receive your registration before the deadline. |

| Test Dates |
| Every Semester one WPST is administrated either in January, April, August, and November. Deadlines are usually about 3 weeks before the test day. |

| Registration Deadline |
| The deadline of the WPST is usually 3 weeks before the test day. If they miss the deadline and want to come stand-by, students should check the link on this website or call the WPST Office at 667-3069 for the stand-by information. Please be aware that stand-by is limited and not everyone may be admitted on the day of the test. There will be no late registration. There will be a recording listing the information about stand-by on the WPST phone; they can listen to it at anytime of the day or night the week before the test. Stand-by is available at the Turlock Campus only on the day of the test. Students showing up at the Stockton Campus for stand-by will be advised to go to the Turlock Campus. |

| How to Register |
Send check or money order to the address on the bottom of the registration form (payable to WPST/CSUS):

Please note that a registration form mailed at a local post office usually takes one day to come from Stockton to Turlock. There is usually no need to send the registration form & check Express Mail or Fed Ex. Payments will not be accepted by Cashiers or A & R in Stockton.

| Test Fee |
| The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Special Test Arrangements for Individuals with Disabilities or with Saturday Sabbath.
If you have a visual, hearing, learning, physical, or functional disability that would prevent you from taking the WPST test under standard conditions, you may request special arrangements to take the test. Accommodation will be provided for students who are registered with the CSUS Disabled Student Services department and who have been approved for special testing accommodations.
Obtain a "Request for Special WPST Testing" form from the DSS office and attach it to your WPST application. Also, be sure you include your class schedule. Due to space and staff restrictions, it may be necessary to test you on Wednesday or Thursday before the exam. If this is a hardship, please state this on your request form for accommodations. Specific reporting instructions will be mailed shortly after the registration deadline.
If you are not able to take the test on Saturdays for religious reasons, obtain a letter from your pastor on church letterhead and a copy of your class schedule and attach it to your WPST application. Requests not on letterhead will not be honored. Your test will be arranged for the Wednesday or Thursday before the regular test date. Specific reporting instructions will be mailed to you shortly after the registration deadline.
If you do not receive your reporting information by Monday before the regular test date, please contact the WPST office and get the information. It is your responsibility to be sure that you obtain this information by Wednesday before the regular test date. |

| What to bring with you on the test date |
| You will need to bring a photo id.: Photo driver's license, military id. or passport. Please note that a student identification card is not acceptable. Also, bring two pens with black ink. Do NOT bring pencils. Essays written in pencil will not be scored. The readers of your essays will disregard cross-outs in your essay, so don't hesitate to make corrections in this way. You will write your essay, including any planning for the essay, in a test booklet provided at the test administration. Dictionaries, scratch paper, or aids of any kind will not be allowed in the testing room.If you have questions about the registration, call the WPST Office at 667-3069 Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 10 A.M. and 2 P.M.. |

| Test Time |
| Students will be notified by mail around 10 to 7 days before the test day of the time and location of the test. |

| If Notification is Not Received |
| If students have not received notification by the Monday of the test week, they should call 667-3069 between 8 AM and 5 PM.
