Patricia O’Donnell

Lecturer

Patricia O'Donnell is a part-time instructor at California State University, Stanislaus with a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from Temple University. As a member of Actors Equity she has worked in regional theatres including Playmakers Repertory and Pennsylvania Stage, performed Off-Broadway with the Equity Library Theatre and with CSC Repertory Theatre in New York City with leading roles in The Changeling, King Lear, The Cherry Orchard and Peer Gynt before moving to Turlock. Here, she has collaborated with husband, Jere, on the Winter at the Carnegie performance series and theatrical productions for the University's Summer Arts Festival. Among her favorite roles, the legendary Virginia Woolf in A Room of One's Own, Brian Friel's translucent Molly Sweeney, and the rare opportunities for a woman to create the roles of Hamlet, King Lear's Fool and Richard II. Ms. O'Donnell has also served by appointment of the Mayor on the Turlock City Arts Commission for 11 years and is currently President of the Carnegie Arts Center Foundation, Turlock. She was honored in 2000 with the California Park and Recreation Society, District V, Outstanding Community Service Award and in 2003 with a Carnegie Arts Award and a Stanislaus County Excellence in Arts Award.
