	1996-present		Chair, Department of Teacher Education, California State University, Stanislaus. Responsible for a department of 23 tenured/tenure track professors and approximately 50 part time adjunct faculty. Program responsibility includes Single Subject Credential Program (SSCP), Multiple Subject Credential Program SB 2042 Authorization, (Bilingual/Crossculture, Language and Academic Development, Teaching Intern Programs in MSCP and SSCP, Master of Arts degree programs in Elementary C & I, Secondary C&I, Reading, and Multilingual Education.

	1988-present		Professor of Teacher Education, California State University, Stanislaus. Supervised four program components and a staff consisting of seven learning specialists, three secretaries, and approximately 150 paraprofessionals. Center provided services to approximately 2500 students every year

	1993-95		Chair, CLAD/BCLAD Development Team, California State University, Stanislaus, in California. Responsible for developing the new CLAD/BCLAD (Bilingual, Crossculture, Language and Academic Development) credentials on our campus. Replaced the old Bilingual and Language Development Specialist credentials. I coordinated their implementation the following year

	1989-90		Coordinator, Multiple Subjects Credential Program, California State University, Stanislaus, in California. Responsible for coordinating the credential program, staffing, program and curriculum development, and chairing faculty program committee

	1984-86		Director, Intensive Learning Experience Program. Funded from the CSU Chancellor's Office at $149,000. Innovative instructional program in math and writing for college students who scored at the lower quartile on the ELM (Entry Level Math Exam) and EPT (English Placement Test), entry level examinations in math and writing.

	1982-83		Director, Second Language and Assessment Program, CSU, Fresno, School of Education and Human Development. Project trained Special Education personnel in conducting educational assessments of bilingual Spanish-speaking children.

	1981-83		Outreach Coordinator, Title VII Bilingual Teacher Training Project, School of Education and Human Development, California State University, Fresno. Responsible for developing career ladder programs for teacher aides in school districts in the CSU, Fresno service area. Assisted in establishing an external Liberal Studies degree program offering CSU, Fresno upper division residency courses at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California. Also provided academic advising for Title VII students

	1981-83		Director, Bilingual Teacher Waiver Program, CSU, Fresno, School of Education and Human Development. Waiver Program assisted teachers at three institute centers in completing requirements for the Bilingual Certificate of Competency.

Program Development

	-	Providing leadership for the implementation of new credential programs in Multiple Subject and Single Subject under SB 2042.
	-	Provided leadership for the development of the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Program in the College of Education. The program provides test preparation support for teacher credential candidates for RICA, CBEST, MSAT, etc. Coordinates and collaborates with four area community colleges as well as funded teacher recruitment programs in service area.
	-	Provided leadership for the development of the University Intern Program. This involved substantial collaboration with over 50 school districts in our service area.
	-	Provided leadership for the development of an innovative credential program delivered in the City of Merced. Courses are taught in an intensive cohort format over a four-seven week format. Students complete one course at a time and move on to the next one. Student response has been excellent and encouraging. This semester, the cohort program format was expanded to the Stockton Center. The program is fully enrolled and student response has been excellent.
	-	Served as chair of the CLAD/BCLAD development committee that created the Multiple Subject Preliminary Credential with CLAD and BCLAD emphases.

Personal Information

I am 52 years old and have been married to Katherine Anne Flores (Kata) for 30 years. Our children are Guadalupe Isabel Flores (age 22) and Juan Ramon Flores (age 16). Lupita is an accomplished Mexican folkdance performer and graduated with a BA in Psychology. Juan Ramon plays the trumpet and is actively involved in various musical groups including a marimba band, jazz band, wind ensemble, and a marching band. Kata is a dedicated family practice physician deeply committed to providing medical services to underserved communities. We have a tabby cat named Princess Lea, a siamese cat named Squeaker, a terrier mix named Buff, and a lab mix named Nicholas.
