Why did you choose CSU Stanislaus?

I wanted to go somewhere that wasn’t too far away from home and wasn’t too close, and with my older brother living in Riverbank (not too far) it makes it a whole lot easier. Then I checked out the Nursing Program here and saw that it was pretty good.

What advice would you give a prospective student?

Starting out the school year it’ll get really hard to the point you want to give up, but DON’T! Being in college you not only meet so many people, but you find yourself and learn about who you really are. Set goals for yourself and never give up.

What has been your favorite academic or student life experience so far?

I am a cheerleader at CSU Stanislaus, and being on the cheer team and meeting so many new people has been very good. Also, I live in the dorms and you go so many places and interact with so many people. And that has been the best for me.

What is your career objective?

Being a Nursing major there are so many ways I could go. I like nursing, but if I have the opportunity to become a doctor, no doubt about it, I am going to take it. I want to be a Pediatric Registered Clinical Oncology Nurse or Oncologist.

What clubs, sports, and activities have you participated in?

Who is your most influential personal and/or University mentor?

Being only a freshman I haven’t had the opportunity to get close to any professors, but there is a classmate of mine who always helps me out. Her name is Monique Ponquinette and she’s a Nursing major currently in the Nursing Program. She helps me a lot with picking out my classes and gives me moral support. I have so much respect for her and am thankful for her taking me under her wing and showing me the “Nursing Ropes”.
