Biography
I was born in China. I got my B.S. and M.S. in Management Information Systems at Beijing University, China. Then I went to the University of Kentucky to receive my Ph.D. training in Decision Science and Information Systems. During my doctoral program, I taught Information Systems, Electronic Commerce and Operations Management to undergraduate students. Now I am an assistant professor at CSU Stanislaus. This is actually my first job and I just finished my first semester here. I have done some research about Strategic Information Systems Planning, Human Computer Interaction, and Information Technology Application (in education).

What have you learned from your students?
Every student has his/her own strength and specialty. I appreciate the diversified cultural backgrounds and personalities. Instructors and students should respect each other. And I have learned different perspectives from my students. I really enjoy having discussions with them.
Why do students choose CSU Stanislaus?
Different students may have different concerns. But generally, they come to get trained and be prepared for their future jobs at reasonable cost. And smaller class size allows more interaction between students and instructors.
How do students succeed in your class?
They have to prepare for the class. They should actively think and participate in the discussion during class, and be ready to ask and answer questions. After class, they should review the material and finish the homework and lab assignments with their critical, analytical thinking. They should learn not only the facts/rules but also how to apply them.
What brought you to CSU Stanislaus?
Nice colleagues made the first impact on me. They are willing to help and collaborate. And the town is a peaceful and comfortable place. I also enjoy the interaction possible within a small class.
If you were not teaching, what other career do you see yourself in?
I may consider IT consultant or database/system administrator.
Describe a former student who has attained professional success.
This is my first semester. The students in my database class may be able to apply the knowledge from the class to their jobs (majority of them have full-time jobs). I am waiting for their good news.
