Biography
My name is Maria Canchola. I'm from East Side Oakland, California. I moved to the Central Valley six years ago and I live in Livingston, California. I plan to be a Registered Nurse, and this university offers a great nursing program. I chose this campus because it offers many combined features. For example, the class sizes are great, not too many students per class, and I have the opportunity to have one-on-one attention from the professors. The variety of programs is what I also like. The campus offers many diverse majors. The campus is a beautiful site and is always fresh and clean. The freshness comes from the various trees around campus that keep us cool. This University is great!
Why did you choose CSU Stanislaus?
I wanted to come to this campus because of the class sizes. This way I have a chance to have a one-on-one conversation with the professor.
What advice would you give a prospective student?
I would tell the student that there is no such thing as "I can't" in this campus because all the help you need is provided. For example, tutoring.
What has been your favorite academic or student life experience so far?
Living in the dorms is a great experience I believe everyone should have the opportunity to live that experience.
What is your career objective?
To be a Registered Nurse with a lot of potential.
What clubs, sports, and activities have you participated in?
I haven't participated in many activities yet, but I did participate in a Summer Bridge program with the AMP (math and science program).
Who is your most influential personal and/or University mentor?
My most influential mentor has to be my cousin, because she is the one who always helps me out when I have problems in class and she is like my guide.
