Biography
I’ve gotten to learn a lot about Stanislaus by being a student, University Ambassador, Resident Advisor, and Office Coordinator for the Graduate School. I guess you could say that Stanislaus really is my second home!
Why did you choose CSU Stanislaus?
I chose CSU Stanislaus because of the strong business program and the location. I wanted to be close to home but just far enough away to get the independence I’d been searching for.
What advice would you give a prospective student?
Be prepared. Know that there is going to be a lot of different activities and opportunities here to enjoy. Don’t overload yourself, but get involved and make your experience here memorable.
What has been your favorite academic or student life experience so far?
I think that making it to my senior year and knowing I only have six more classes to finish has been the best feeling so far. You come to college to earn a degree and being so close to that accomplishment is almost indescribable.
What is your career objective?
I’d like to begin working in marketing for a public relations firm, but my ultimate goal is to earn my PhD in Communication Studies and teach at the university level.
What clubs, sports, and activities have you participated in?
I spent three years in campus housing, two of which I was a Resident Advisor for incoming freshman. As an RA, I was able to coordinate events and chair committees that planned activities for the 600+ students who live on campus. I have also been a part of the intramural softball and basketball teams.
Who is your most influential personal and/or University mentor?
Steven Graham, the Associate Director of the Graduate School. Steve hired me for my first on-campus position and has been a great mentor throughout my academic, work, and personal milestones. He has helped me find what I really want to do in life and has been a great support here at school.
