Samera Michmali
Samera MichamaliHi, my name is Samara Michmali and I am a graduate student. In spring 2008, I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in teaching English (TESOL). I am currently enrolled in the Multiple Subject Credentials Program and I plan on pursuing an MA in Education with a concentration in School Counseling and the Pupil Personal Services Program. I am a first generation student from a family of nine. I’m also a transfer student from MJC. This is my third year as a Peer Mentor for SSS and I really enjoy working with students and helping them with problems, issues, and concerns they will encounter in school. I also conduct workshops that are held weekly in the lab If you are a freshman, sophomore, junior, or transfer student, I highly recommend this program! Hope to see all new and current students! Have a good semester.

Octavio Jimenez
Octavio JimenezHey everyone! My name is Octavio Jimenez and I come from the big city of Los Banos, CA. I’m entering my last and final year as a Criminal Justice major. I am a first generation college student from a family of ten. I am a CHCI (Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute) 2009 Scholar and a recent HACU (Hispanic Assoc. of Colleges & Universities) intern, in which I interned for theDept. Of Veteran Affairs-Health Administration at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. As a brother of Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. (NAK), EOP student, and SSS student, I enjoy helping students with any conflicts that might arise by giving guidance, mentorship, and best of all as a friend. Upon graduating in spring 2010, I plan on attending graduate school and receive a Masters Degree and one day obtain a PhD or Law degree. SSS has helped me pave the way of my academic success by giving great academic advising. To get the best out of college, get involved, and make the best of what comes your way!! Best of luck.
