It was then I realized the impact TRiO programs have on the disadvantaged students and I decided to be part of an organization that changed lives. It has been a wonderful experience to guide, counsel, mentor and then watch our participants blossom into successful members of society. Amie Hennings
Writing Specialist
E-mail: ahennings@csustan.edu

My name is Amie Hennings, and I am a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus with a Masters in English, concentration in TESOL. I have nine years experience tutoring writing at both Modesto Junior College and CSU Stanislaus. My tutoring experiences have prepared me well for teaching writing, reading, ESL, and grammar. I have compiled a repertoire of strategies derived from my experiences working with developmental writers, and I now have a firm teaching foundation that I will utilize to facilitate the writing process. My years with assisting student writers has led me to develop, anticipate, and apply the most effective strategies with which to aid students in achieving competency in their college-level writing. I am looking forward to interacting with all of you over the semester with any task that you may have. I have always been excited about language and writing and wish to share my passion with every one of you. Writing is a socially interactive process, and I trust that we can share our experiences, knowledge, and expectations in order to facilitate and develop strong working relationships. Just remember that you all have a knowledgeable foundation to work from, and I am here to help build upon your already existing knowledge. Hope to see you soon!
