Herman D. Lujan became Interim Provost in July 2009. Dr. Lujan came to CSU Stanislaus with an extensive background in higher education leadership that includes considerable California State University experience. He served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at CSU Los Angeles (2001-07); the Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at CSU Polytechnic University, Pomona (2007-08); and most recently as Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs for the CSU Maritime Academy (2008-09). Prior to coming to the CSU, Dr. Lujan served as the Vice President for Minority Affairs (1978-88) and the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (1988-91) at the University of Washington; the President and President Emeritus of the University of Northern Colorado (1991-98); and as the Chief Academic Officer and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs with the Connecticut State University System (1998-2001). Dr. Lujan received his Ph.D. from the University of Idaho and his M.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
