I have worked at CSU Stanislaus for 13 years, helping students reach their academic and professional goals. I have a B.S. in International Business Management from San Francisco State University and a M.S. in Administrative Leadership in Higher Education from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I understand the many challenges students face while in college and that’s where PACE can help. Our goal is to assist students in overcoming these challenges so they can be successful. Araceli Garcia | Academic Advisor
Phone: (209) 664-6940 | Email: Agarcia8@csustan.eduI am a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus with a Masters in Education, concentration in School Counseling. My baccalaureate degree is in Sociology, concentration in Human Services. My background and experience fostered a passion for helping students reach their full potential, complete a baccalaureate degree, and become successful contributors to society.
I embrace the philosophy that academic advising is a vital and integral part of the education process. Advising is much more that than simply recommending appropriate courses so that students can earn their degrees in a timely manner. Comprehensive advising encourages students to develop clear and rational educational, career, and personal goals. It promotes the maximum academic, career, personal, and social development of every student.
As an advisor, I can be your primary resource regarding academic issues, opportunities, and programs, if you take the initiative to seek advice. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
Juanita Cruthird | Academic Advisor
Phone: (209) 664-6942 | Email: Jcruthird@csustan.eduCalifornia State University, Stanislaus has been my home away from home for almost five years. During that time, I have served multiple roles related to advising students regarding careers and academics. I realize that each student brings unique circumstances, backgrounds, and personalities. Individual differences are taken into considerations in order to serve students and help them make informed choices.
My goal regarding students is to encourage and aid those in need of assistance, challenge students not meeting their potential, and support students as they progress on their chosen path. Students can accomplish their goals if they commit to taking the needed steps and I value being a part of their journey.

As a member of the California State University, Stanislaus community for nearly seven years I have gained a wide breadth of experience that I am able to incorporate into my approach as an Academic Advisor for the Program for Academic and Career Excellence (PACE). I believe that as an Academic Advisor, it is important to work together with students to create a tailored academic plan that facilitates the successful completion of their academic and, ultimately, career goals. My focus is not just on helping students navigate the journey of undergraduate coursework, but doing so in a manner that will help students to be successful after graduation.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Communication and Public Relations with a minor in Psychology in 2010 from CSU Stanislaus. Currently, I am working on my Master of Public Administration Degree, also at CSU Stanislaus. My educational experience here at CSU Stanislaus has given me the opportunity to appreciate the advantages as well as the challenges that students may encounter as part of a diverse student body.
Students are entering an increasingly competitive job market upon graduation and it is important that they utilize opportunities during their undergraduate coursework to gain valuable skills inside and out of the classroom. I encourage current and potential PACE participants to visit our program to receive resource guidance that will help them achieve their academic and career goals, whether that be graduate school or entering the job market.
