Qualified candidates must:

1. Have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.67 overall or 2.75 in the last 60 units
2. Be a mathematics major, science major, or a career professional with a math or science degree
3. Submit a Noyce Scholarship application
4. Must be a Junior or higher to receive the scholarship—Sophomores may apply one year in advance

Noyce Scholarship Awardees must:

• Teach in a high-need school in exchange for a scholarship
• Participate in all Scholar activities and learning experiences
• Complete a BA or BS degree
• Complete the Single Subject Credential Program prerequisite requirements
• Complete the Single Subject Teacher Certification Program
• Be available for annual interviews
• Attend Noyce Scholars Summer Academy
• Pass the California Basic Education Skills test (CBEST)
• Pass the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) in math or science
• Complete Natural Sciences 4961 course
• Complete 45 hours of early-field experience in teaching
