Qualified candidates must:
- Have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.67 overall or 2.75 in the last 60 units
- Be a mathematics major, science major, or a career professional with a math or science degree
- Submit a Noyce Scholarship application
- Must be a Junior or higher to receive the scholarship—Sophomores may apply one year in advance
Noyce Scholarship Awardees must:
- Teach in a high-need school in exchange for a scholarship
- Participate in all Scholar activities and learning experiences
- Complete a BA or BS degree
- Complete the Single Subject Credential Program prerequisite requirements
- Complete the Single Subject Teacher Certification Program
- Be available for annual interviews
- Attend Noyce Scholars Summer Academy
- Pass the California Basic Education Skills test (CBEST)
- Pass the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) in math or science
- Complete Natural Sciences 4961 course
- Complete 45 hours of early-field experience in teaching
