The Department of Music is housed in a modern, well-equipped facility that offers a state-of-the-art computer lab, piano lab, practice rooms, Steinway and Boston pianos, wind, percussion and stringed instruments, and a performance music library. The Department's main performing venue is the 315-seat Flora and Bernell Snider Music Recital Hall, which opened in 2003 with an inaugural concert by the internationally renowned pianist, Van Cliburn.
An accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the Department offers both professional and liberal arts degree programs in music as well as courses which enhance the general education and cultural life of the University.
