Dustin Soiseth

Orchestra



Dustin Soiseth is currently on the music faculty at California State University, Stanislaus where he conducts Stanislaus Symphony Orchestra, New Music Ensemble – which he co-founded – and teaches general music courses. A California native, Prof. Soiseth earned a Bachelor of Music degree from CSU Stanislaus, where he studied trumpet and philosophy, and a Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting from the Meadows School of the Arts, studying with Paul Phillips. He also numbers Harold Farberman, John Farrer, and Michael Morgan among his principal teachers.

This past January Prof. Soiseth conducted the critically acclaimed CSUS/Townsend Opera Players production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and, in partnership with Off The Air Productions, led the New Music Ensemble in a highly successful outreach performance at Modesto’s Café Deva

Before joining the faculty at CSU Stanislaus Prof. Soiseth was Music Director of the Tyler (TX) Youth Orchestra and served as a cover conductor for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Turlock City Arts Commission, Turlock Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, and is co-founder of The Loose Filter Project, an arts think tank found online at www.loosefilter.com.
