A NEW FOCUS ON CREATIVITY
Summer Music at Stanislaus has been offering rewarding, inspiring musical experiences to young musicians for over two decades. This year we will be adding an exciting new element to the camp experience. The traditional afternoon electives will take on a new, focused direction and will follow a specific activity or skill resulting in a final creative presentation-that presentation could be a performance, an online musical broadcast, a recording session or something we haven't even thought of yet-but the work will be driven by students' imagination and creativity. There will also be opportunities for students to learn and explore skills and techniques outside of their normal large ensemble routine, with electives that include world drumming for non-percussionists, singing for non-singers, rock band, song writing, chamber music, conducting and rehearsing, recording and production, and more! This year's program will also include sessions of music listening that will broaden your student's musical knowledge by exposing them to new musical genres. We're very excited about the creative possibilities offered in the new electives and believe that your student will find it uniquely rewarding.
Both Junior and Senior Music Camps will include electives in musical theatre. All students will have the opportunity to enroll in electives highlighting major chorus and ensemble pieces from popular Broadway shows. Musical theatre electives may also include stage movement and choreography, acting, character analysis, and musical theatre appreciation.California State University Stanislaus
