Prospective Piano Majors

Students interested in majoring in Piano Performance at CSU Stanislaus should prepare to audition during the year prior to admission with two works in contrasting styles from memory.  A suggested minimum difficulty level for audition repertoire would include selections from Bach Inventions, Mozart Sonatas, or Chopin Nocturnes.

Contact the Music Recruitment Coordinator at musicrecruitment@csustan.edu  or 209-667-3844 for information about audition dates or to schedule a visitation or free sample lesson.  Students who perform for entrance auditions are automatically considered for a talent-based scholarship, which is a four-year award for entering freshmen, and a two- to three-year award for transfer students.

Prospective students are also encouraged to contact Dr. Stephen Thomas, Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at sthomas@csustan.edu or 209-667-3429 for further information.
