Background and Description

The Central California Mathematics Project at California State University, Stanislaus is one of 19 regional math projects through the California Math Project.

CCMP Annual Conference: March 16, 2013

K-12 teachers, school and county administrators are invited to participate in our Annual Conference. The all-day Conference will include a range of topics on current issues in K-12 mathematics education, including: trends in education reform, Common Core Standards, techniques for teaching ELLs, algebra in HS chemistry, origami, tips on using technology in the classroom, and tried and tested practical strategies from experienced teachers on reviewing and re-teaching with pizzazz.
Registration is only $25 (due by March 8; or $35 after March 8) or free for students (register by March 8) and will be held at California State University, Stanislaus from 9am to 3pm. Please mark your calendars and join us! (Professional development hours are available.)

 

2012-2013 CSET 1, 2, and 3 Review Sessions

As you are aware, the format for the California Single Subject Math Exam (CSET) has changed.   You can now take the CSET exam anytime by registering online for one of the available exam appointments. Since the CSET exam is computer based, the Office of Mathematics Grants will be offering coaching sessions for the exam  to fit the new format.

The sessions will be offered on Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in MSR 130:

  • Fall Series: Nov 7, 14, 28; Dec 5, 12; Jan 9, 16, 23, 30; Feb 6
  • Spring Series: Feb 27; March 6, 13, 20, 27; April 10, 17, 24; May 1, 8

The sessions will be offered on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in MSR 130B:

Note: Change in Fees:

  • For non-CSU Stanislaus students: ten, 3-hour sessions: $500 (includes studyguide)
  • For CSU Stanislaus students: 3-hour sessions: $100 (includes studyguide)

You can earn up to two (2) Professional Development units by completing all of the sessions.

2012-13 Professional Developement Series

K-12 teachers, paraprofessionals, and resource teachers are invited to participate in our Saturday Series. Earn professional development units while you learn. Here are the details:

  • In process of changing to a 2 hr per Saturday format through distance learning. You will be able to participate from your home through your computer!

Each session will run from 9:30am to 10:30am.

Participants are eligible to purchase one unit of professional development credit (at $75) after completion of 15 hours.

 

Previous Events:

CCMP Summer Institute: June 18 - 21, 2012 (Registration Closed)

Grades 3 - 5 teachers are invited to participate in our Summer Institute: Fractions from a Number Line Approach. The goal of CCMP’s Summer Institute is to provide professional development to enhance teachers’ conceptual understanding of fractions. Introducing fractions from number line approach, the Summer Institute will increase their content knowledge of and ability to teach the topic meeting the California Version of the Common Core Content Standards. There are 32 openings with applications accepted till filled.
A team of up to 4 teachers from the same school/district is encouraged. Professional development credit available.

Where:           CSU Stanislaus

Who Attends:  Teachers in grades 3, 4, 5.

Dates:            June 18, 2012 – June 22, 2012

Hours:            8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Teachers will be paid a $600 Stipend for their 40- hour participation.
