|Dr. Marjorie Chan received her BS degree in Business Administration from California State University at Fresno, and her MBA and Ph.D. degrees from UCLA. Dr. Chan is a Certified Online Instructor who received her online teaching certificate from the Sloan-Consortium on September 3, 2011. Dr. Chan has conducted empirical research in companies across various industries such as aerospace, banking, advertising, media buying, and medical technologies. Her publications have appeared in the Journal of Management Case Studies, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship, International Journal of Case Studies and Research, Management Research News, Business Journal, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, Journal of Business Ethics, Business and Society Review, the Open Ethics Journal, and the Journal of Leadership, Accountability and Ethics. Dr. Chan has also cases and articles published in books on management policy and strategy, small business management, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Chan has presented papers in both national and international conferences held in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Korea, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Chan received 15 "Dean's Office Monetary Journal Publication Awards" for 15 refereed journal articles published during 1995 through 2010. She also received in May of 2009 the College of Business Administration's Outstanding Research Award for 2008-09. In the summer of 2009, she completed her work as a guest editor of a special issue titled "Executive Compensation" for the Open Ethics Journal (Bentham Science Publishers), and she contributed the editorial pages and a refereed article to this issue. Also, she received five Leadership Awards for 1997, 1998, 1999, 2005,and 2006 from the International Conference on Advances in Management for chairing the Strategic Management and Organization Theory track. Dr. Chan has been a board member of the following: International Journal of Organizational Analysis from 1998 to June of 2007 and CSU Stanislaus College of Business Administration's Family Business Center from the spring of 2001 to June of 2004. Dr. Chan has been an ad hoc reviewer for the International Journal of Organizational Analysis from 1998 to June of 2007. She has served as an elected board member of the Annual International Conference on Advances in Management for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Currently, Dr. Chan is a board member of the Open Ethics Journal and the Open Business Journal.
Dr. Chan is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, and a former Associate Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
