Students living in the on campus housing community at California State University, Stanislaus have the ability to search and select their own roommates, as well as their preferred room location. In order to select a roommate or room a student must have a complete housing application on file with the Housing Office.
A complete housing application consists of the following:

Other Information
- Applicants need to confirm that the roommates they select have requested the same type of housing and that the room type selected aligns with financial means. Applicants are responsible for the full cost of the room they select. The housing affordability calculator may be used to compute costs.
- Applicants will be able to see their room selection lottery timeslot online through the housing application about one week prior to their round of placement. To do this simply log back into the housing application and navigate to Step 8.
- Applicants in the 2nd round of the roommate search process may still request a roommate from someone who was in the 1st round of placement. This person can then confirm them as a roommate. As long as there is still space left in the assigned suite or apartment the new roommate will then be pulled into that room. If there is no space all of the roommates can elect to release the room they have already selected to choose a different room where there is sufficient space for all four roommates.
- The roommate search and confirmation process is separate from the room selection process. A single person who has no confirmed roommates can select a room in which they are not confirmed roommates with the other occupants as long as there is space available in that particular room.
Roommates and room placement is subject to change based upon the adminstrative needs of the Housing facility. Every effort will be made to honor all requests.
