We offer a variety of awards to deserving students, provided by the department, the University, and organizations such as E Campus Vitas.

Selected graduate students can also serve as teaching assistants to increase their professional preparation in the classroom and enhance their appeal for that teaching job later.

Finally, one-on-one conversations with history professionals-not only among our faculty, but with staff of the California State Parks system, local museums, and libraries-aid the graduate student in expanding job horizons and finding his or her niche in the historical profession.
