The Work-Study Program is a federally funded program which provides employment for either undergraduate or graduate students to help with the cost of education. If you have additional questions, the Work-Study Coordinator has available office hours. Please call (209) 667-3336.
Eligibility
Only Students who have accepted a Work-Study award "My CSUSTAN" may apply for jobs through the Work-Study Program.
- Federal Work-Study recipients may begin seeking their job placements as early as August 14.
- Students may begin working the first day of each semester; or the date the hiring process is completed, whichever date is later.
- Students have until September 19 to be placed in a work-study position.
- First-time Work-Study students must submit CSU Student Payroll Action Request and Employment Eligibility Certification forms to the Payroll Office in Financial Services, located in the Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Services Gateway Suite #320. (Building #27 see map)
- The Authorization Form must be completed before you begin working.
To Obtain your work-study position
Job postings "CareerTRAK" or copies of Work-Study job listings are also available in Financial Aid located in the Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Services Gateway Building, Room #100. (Building #27 see map )
- Go to the CareerTRAK main page.
- If you are a new user, click on “Click here to register!” under the Login button.
- Complete the registration form (all fields with an asterisk “*” are required). Establish a unique username and password for future access. Once your profile is approved by an administrator your registration will be complete. You can then return to the page mentioned previously and login.
- At the top of the page, click on “Job Search.”
- The next page will open up with the “Job Advanced Search” header.
- Under “Position Type,” click on “Workstudy” only and hit enter.
- All active positions will be listed here.
- To apply contact the hiring department.
- Students are required to complete a work-study application.pdf when applying for an on-campus position. Submit your work-study application to the hiring department.
- Students who are hired must pick up their Authorization Form from the Financial Aid Office and submit it to the employer to finalize their position, before beginning work.
Interested in a work-study position
- If students were not originally awarded Work-Study and wish to receive Federal Work-Study, there is a waiting list process by submitting a written request to add work-study awards to a students financial aid award.
- Funding is quite limited and substantially more students have been offered work than in prior years.
