POSITION:
|
Tenure Track Position in Medical/Surgical Adult Health Nursing: The Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on highest degree earned and experience. The person appointed to this position will teach in the areas of: Adult Health theory and clinical. Additional responsibilities will include: teaching other courses as appropriate to specialty, program evaluation, and student advising. In addition opportunities exist for teaching and research in the clinical simulation laboratory. Effective teaching, scholarship, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure. This is an academic year appointment.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
A Master of Science Degree in Nursing with clinical major or area of concentration in medical/surgical nursing; current clinical experience required; current or eligibility for California R.N. licensure; knowledge of and ability to work within a multi-ethnic community; ability to teach in graduate and undergraduate nursing programs; potential for or record of scholarly activity. Applicant must be eligible for teaching approval by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
|
An earned doctorate from an appropriately accredited institution. A potential candidate's consideration will also be enhanced by providing evidence of the ability to teach in a second clinical area
