Dawn Poole

(Core Faculty)

Dr. Poole's interests center around how technology impacts teaching and learning. Recent scholarly work includes: "The Impact of Anonymous and Assigned Student Response Systems on Student Achievement" Journal of Interactive Learning Research, and Four articles in review as of February 2013: "Teacher Perspectives about 21st Century Technology Integration," "Exemplary Technology Using Teachers in a High-Stakes Assessment Environment: A Multiple Case Study," "The Impact of Constructivist Beliefs, Leadership and Support, Personal Factors, and School Factors on Technology Integration," and an article co-written with Monique Preciado, "The Impact of a Vocabulary Development Software Program on Vocabulary and Reading."

Dr. Poole has presented annually at the Educational Technology Conference in Modesto.  In 2013, her sessions were "Digital Technology and the Common Core," "K-4 Common Core ELA Activity Ideas, and "5-8 Common Core ELA Activity Ideas."  In 2012, sessions included "The New Breed of Students" and "Best Practices with Student Response Systems."
