A Workshop for Educators Involved in Teaching
Social Studies.
Economic principles are an integral part of the History/Social Science standards in all grades. Join the Center for Economic Education in an afternoon/evening workshop that will:
  • Introduce strategies for addressing the economics strand of the K-12 History/Social Science curriculum standards.
  • Introduce educators to Virtual Economics, which is a CD contains many of the resources distributed by the National Council on Economic Education, including many lesson plans.
  • Work in grade level groups getting hands on experience working through an economics lesson plan.
  • Special presentation by Dr. Robert McNab, 1991 graduate of CSU Stanislaus and current Assistant Professor of Economics at the Defense Resources Management Institute.

Date: Monday, January 27
Time: 4:00pm-8:00pm

4-7 Educators’ Workshop (Refreshments and dinner included)
7-8 Special presentation by Dr. Robert McNab

Priority Registration: The first 40 educators who register by January 17 will receive a complementary Virtual Economics CD, which contains hundreds of economics education resources and lessons.

  • All participants will receive Copy of the Economics Strand of the 1998 California History/Social Science Standards from the California Council on Economic Education.
  • Participants’ classes will be eligible to participate in International Economics competition.
  • Refreshments and dinner will be provided for all registered participants.
  • School site groups are encouraged to register.
