You will need to create a Website Connection the first time you use Contribute or after a re-install.
To create a website connection - Windows:
- Start Contribute
- Select Edit > My Connections

- The My Connections dialog box appears. The options in this dialog box let you create and manage your Contribute connections.

- Click Create.
- The Connection Wizard appears. This wizard or assistant guides you through setting up a new website connection.
- Click Next.
- From the What do you want to connect to pop-up menu, select Website.
- In the What is the web address (URL) of your website field, enter the website you want to connect to. If necessary, click the Browse button and browse to the website.
- Click Next.
- From the How do you connect to your web server pop-up menu, select your connection service, FTP.
- Once you are selected FTP, enter the FTP server name, user name, and password.

- Click Next.
- Enter your name, and email address.
- Click Next.
- Select Writer.
- Click Next.
- On the Summary screen, review the connection settings to verify that they’re correct and click Done to complete the connection.
To create a website connection - MAC:
- Start Contribute
- Contribute > My Connections.

- The Connection Assistant appears. This wizard or assistant guides you through setting up a new website connection.
- Click Continue.
- From the What do you want to connect to pop-up menu, select Website.
- In the What is the web address (URL) of your website field, enter the website you want to connect to. If necessary, click the Browse button and browse to the website.
- Click Continue.
- From the How do you connect to your web server pop-up menu, select your connection service, FTP.
- Once you are selected FTP, enter the FTP server name, user name, and password.

- Click Continue.
- Enter your name, and email address.
- Click Continue.
- Select Writer.
- Click Continue.
- On the Summary screen, review the connection settings to verify that they’re correct and click Finish (Macintosh) to complete the connection.
Contribute creates a connection to the website.
After Contribute has successfully created a connection to the website, the Connection Wizard or Connection Assistant closes, and the main page of the website appears in the Contribute browser. |
