| You are the most critical support system for students and we are here to offer information and encouragement as, together, we help your student transition through the education process and prepare for a career. We know that families, like students, want to be informed, encouraged, and connected to their University.
We encourage parents to visit the Student's webpage to check out the resources and tools available to your student, including workshops to help them explore a variety of career-related topics.
Encourage your student to visit the Career Services Center early, starting in their freshman year, to start planning for success before graduation. We provide a timeline to help them plan for success.
Review the Learning Outcomes on our website, designed to support the academic training received in the classroom, and to contribute to the total learning experience of your student. The Career Services Center is organized and staffed to support co-curricular education growth. Your student will learn how to develop a career plan and occupational options through utilizing individual career counseling services at the Career Services Center, attending one or more workshops on specific career development topics offered throughout the academic year, and completing a resume appropriate for seeking employment following graduation. Your student will also learn to seek appropriate resources through exploring the Career Services Center website to collect data and identify options, investigating resource links, reviewing periodicals, books, videos, and occupational materials in the resource library.
