The Advisory Council
The Inaugural Advisory Council Meeting took place on Friday, August 28, 2009. Our council members are:
Back row, left to right: Roy Wasden, James (Jay) L. Gilbert, Dan Sciabica, Birgit Fladager, Dr. Robert Santos
Front row, left to right: Shannon Nichols, Aimee Sims, Rose Marie (Rosie) Burroughs, Carolyn Stefanco, Eileen Hamilton
Not Pictured: Edna F. Cash-Dudley, Linda Bunny-Sarhad, Claudia Eastman, Dr. Curtis Grant, Larry D. Morse
Advisory Council members provide a sounding board for the dean and give advice on how the College of Humanities and Social Sciences can continue to be a center of excellence in teaching, scholarship, research, creative activity, and community service. The Council’s perspective helps us make decisions about how our existing programs can better reach and serve specific communities, and which topics are most relevant for lectures and community events. In addition, we seek feedback on how we can best prepare for the upcoming trends and changes in regional industries and the state and national economy. Advisory Council members commit their time, talent and, should they be moved to do so, their treasure, to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Meetings are held three to four times a year on the Turlock campus of CSU Stanislaus. |
