The Islands in the Valley: A reception and talk by Dr. Anthony Barcellos
October 20 2012
6:00 to 7:30 PM
East Lake Ranch, 14011 East Ave, Turlock, CA
Flyer.pdf
Please join us on the beautiful estate of Joe and Mary Bettencourt for a presentation by Anthony Barcellos, on his recently published novel, Land of Milk and Money. Highly praised as a “full-blooded tale” by bestselling author John Lescroart, Land of Milk and Money tells the story of the Francisco family, immigrants from the Azores who settle on a dairy farm in California’s San Joaquin Valley. Their plans to eventually return to the Old Country fall by the wayside as their success grows and their American lives take root. A courtroom drama is at the center of the action as the heirs fight over the provisions of the matriarch’s will, jeopardizing a decades-long legacy of success. The story is familiar to many of us, to our sorrow. www.landofmilkandmoney.com See the flyer for all of the details! |
