Students entering CSU, Stanislaus with basic skill deficiencies in English and/or mathematics are required to enroll in a remedial English and/or mathematics class each term until they remediate their deficiencies and are allowed one calendar year to complete remediation. Placement in these courses is based on the students score on the English Placement Test and/or the Entry Level Math Exam as well as your major. Pre-college courses count as units toward satisfactory progress for financial aid, but do not count toward graduation.

To insure compliance with CSU remediation policy, holds are placed on registration until the student completes the remediation process. To obtain advising and remove remediation holds, students are required to meet with an advisor in the Advising Resource Center, Mary Stuart Rogers Building, MSR 180 prior to registering.
