In the process, she became affiliated with a make-up company that offered her classes in fashion design for men and women.  Ant thus, the interest began.  She has over 9 years of experience as an Image Consultant.  She created workshops such as &quot;Strategies to Dress&quot; and &quot;The Positive Self-Esteem in You.&quot;  She has worked with companies such as Heald College, Delta Dental, Prudential Financial, Real Estate Firms, Law Firms, etc.  Her presentation will consist of a slide presentation, image presentation, personal appearance and grooming techniques, and makeovers.<br>

She is a powerful presenter and motivational speaker who will present information on stress and one's body and mind, recognizing one's own stress signals and those of others, and how to deal with these signals so that one will feel more power over one's life.  Brandi will also introduce self-massage techniques.  She was employed by Delta Health Care and currently owns her own business, B-Healthy B-Holistic.<br>

Lisa covers stresses of <b>parenting</b>, clarifies discipline and punishment, child development, stressors of children, health and safety, and communication.  Lisa's <b>exercise</b> classes are basic and may include beginning weight training, easy aerobics, circuit training, and stretching.<br>

 102: 											</span></i>Christina Tupas</b> has been employed with CalWorks 2000.  She was an Employment Training Specialist until 2002.  Then she became the Case Manager for the Food Service and Warehouse Programs and the Case manager for the Supervised Job Search Program.  Currently she is a Job Developer.  She has also been a health educator for Delta Health Care and has held positions in a rehabilitation center, children's home, and the Transitional Learning Center.  She has an Associate of Arts degree in nursing from San Joaquin Delta College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from CSU Stanislaus.  This presentation covers sexually transmitted infections caused by parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Discussion includes prevention, symptoms, and treatment.  Techniques to prevent pregnancy are also included such as physical barriers, spermicides and hormones.<br>

The major goal of the Nutrition Education Program is to improve the nutrition-related skills of its clients and their families.  The <b>nutrition</b> topics covered are: Eating for Energy &amp; Wellness, Check It Out: The Label &amp; You, Goodbye Bacteria---Hello Safe Foods, and Non-Diet Weight Management.<br>

 109: 											</span></i>Leon Coffey</b> is a staff member at the Mediation Center.  He was involved with a union for 21 years and was a union shop steward for 6 years.  Leon is still a union member and acts as a consultant with the union on an as needed basis.  In 2002, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Labor Studies from San Francisco State University.  Leon is also a Vietnam veteran and has been in recovery from drugs and alcohol since 1996.  The mission of the Mediation Center is to provide our community with education and services to increase the use of mediation as a peaceful way to resolve disputes.  It has been in existence since 1992 and became incorporated in 1993.  They handle about 500 cases per year. <b>Conflict Resolution</b> covers effective communication, what you see vs. what you get, blocks to listening, active listening---what is it? techniques for active listening (AVECS), and role playing activities.<br>

She is the Domestic Violence Program Coordinator for a contract between the Women's center and Behavioral Wellness.  She provides weekly classes on Domestic Violence, one-on-one counseling, assistance with temporary restraining orders, and court accompaniment to CalWORKs recipients.  She worked with the Criminal Justice System - Community Corrections Field in Colorado for the past ten years.   There she worked with adult female and male offenders from the Department of Corrections and County Diversion.  Healthy Relationships includes information about domestic violence, including the seven major types of abuse, the cycle of violence, why a person stays in an abusive relationship, the affects of domestic violence on children, myths and facts, the Battered Person's Bill of Rights, and safety planning.</p>

Ruth has also worked with youth in foster family services, and been involved in youth education to prevent substance abuse among adolescents and college students.  <b>Anger Management</b> covers definition, causes, facts, and perceptions about anger.  It also includes barriers to success in dealing with anger and techniques to deal with anger.  Lecture, discussion and experiential activities comprise her presentation.<br>

 134: 											</span></i>Joaquin Vivero</b> has been employed by San Joaquin County for the past 15 years as a substance abuse counselor.  He has a General Education Diploma and a Human Services Certificate from San Joaquin Delta College.  He has worked in the Alcohol Recovery Center in the DUI program and the Chemical Dependency Counseling Center doing group and individual counseling and drug testing.  Additionally, he has worked at San Joaquin General Hospital as a liaison between hospital and the Office of Substance Abuse.  Currently, he is working in Mental Health Children's Youth Services.  Class discussion will include the dynamic of addictions, relapse prevention, definitions for drug abuse, self-assessments to detect possible problems with drugs and/or alcohol, and the overall impact of substance abuse on mental health.  Handouts contain facts about specific substances and mental health awareness and community referral sources.<br>

She teaches a class on &quot;Checks and Balances&quot; for American Correctional Counseling Services and was employed with the Department of Workforce Services for seven years where she worked individually with recipients of public assistance to assist them in obtaining and preparing for employment.  She has conducted numerous workshops on preparing a budget, saving money, life skills, decision making, stress management, independent living, and situational awareness.  In money management, Wendy offers everyday tips on saving money, planning a budget and tracking weekly spending, setting financial goals, and information on savings and earning interest.  She conducts an exercise in using a check register and balancing an account, understanding credit cards, and managing credit.  Teaching-learning activities include: lecture, exercises, discussion and interaction among participants.<br>

 140: 											</span></i>Marcus Omlin</b> has been involved in the medical field since 1987, working first as an Ambulance Driver for Stockton Ambulance Company, where he transported the sick and injured.  In 1988 he became employed as a Firefighter with the Waterloo Morada Fire Department and was promoted to a Fire Captain in 2004.  He has been teaching CPR and First Aid since 1993.  He taught for the Red Cross for about 6 years and has been with EMS Safety Services for 7 years, the company that will provide your certification.  I think you will appreciate Marcus' simple and down to earth teaching style on these very important life saving skills that will benefit you for a lifetime.</td>
